Beautiful Skin Has the Chemical Peel for You!
Here at Beautiful Skin, we provide a variety of Chemical Peels to suit your skin care needs. Below is some information on our most popular solutions.
Mandelac Chemical Peel:
Mandelac Acid is beneficial for deep melasma, anit-aging, normal to sensitive skin, and ethnic skin. There is less itching and irritation during application. It is an AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acid) peel which stimulates collagen production and promotes cellular regeneration. This is a great starter peel for those who have not had the experience of a chemical peel before. This peel treats photoaged skin, pigmentation issues, and non-inflamed acne.
Lactic Chemical Peel:
This gel peel is made up of 80% Lactic Acid and is also classified as an AHA. It treats melasma, photo aging, dryness, wrinkles, flaccid skin, dull skin and acne. This peel helps balance the pH level of the skin and has a natural moisturizing effect on the skin. The gel formula allows for deeper penetration of the solution and aids in skin tightening and skin lightening as well. This treatment increases the thickness of the skin and stimulates the growth of collagen and elastin fibers. Over a period of time your skin will look younger and smoother.
Salicylic Chemical Peel:
For those who have acne prone skin, this Salicylic peel is the right choice. Salicylic acid is good for acne/acne scarring, rosacea, aging/wrinkles, pigmentation, and psoriasis. Also helps to unclog pores, clear blackheads, even out skin tone, and prevent future outbreaks. Salicylic Acid Peels are also effective in reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, improving overall facial texture and clearing melasma.
What to Expect During and After a Chemical Peel:
When the chemical peel solution is applied to the skin, you will feel a warm sensation that may turn into a mild tingling or irritation. This only lasts 1 – 2 minutes. The peel is then neutralized after the time period it takes to become effective. It is common to feel the tightening of the skin immediately. While the peel solution penetrates into the layers of the epidermis, we will apply a cooling gel mask to your face to help calm any redness or irritation.
Once the treatment is completed, your esthetician will make sure your skin is protected from the sun by using our SkinCeuticals Physical Fusion Tinted SPF 50. This is a highly recommended product for you to purchase. Any treatment to your skin especially a chemical peel will make your skin sensitive to the sun. It is vital that you protect it.
In the days following treatment, you may start to experience dry patches and slight sluffing of the skin. It is important that you do not pick off the dry skin. This is the process of the cells rebuilding and the new skin forming. Picking or scraping will damage the skin and may cause pigmentation issues. A good moisturizer will become very essential during the healing and rebuilding process. We encourage you to refrain from sunbathing and/or using a tanning bed for 2 weeks post treatment. Also, if you are one who receives facial wax treatments, please refrain to do so for 2 weeks.
If you have any questions about what you are experiencing with your skin after a chemical peel treatment, we are always here to help educate and let you know what to expect.
